Friday evening we gathered in the Hampton Inn conference room (Headquarters for the weekend) catching up with each other, going through yearbooks & past STNY pictures, and snacking until time for dinner. We walked across the hotel parking lot to the Fiddler's Green Restaurant. The food and ocean view made for a perfect evening. After dinner some of the hardier of us reconvened back at Headquarters for more sharing.

Saturday started with breakfast in the hotel dining area. Slowly, one by one, our group emerged from their rooms. Kenna joined us after a romp in the surf. The waves weren't much. Some of us went shopping in the downtown area of St. Augustine, dining at Scarlett O'Hara's. Some of us played golf (no one would give their scores!). Next was the boat tour of the city's coast. Only one smart person brought an umbrella for shade. Personally, I got sunburned because I thought being from Florida exempt me from the Sun's rays. The dinner Saturday night at The Raintree Restaurant was a hit. We were a little loud at first. We quieted down as soon as the food arrived. Lots of pictures were taken, especially by Fred Krumm. We should have plenty of visual memories of our time together. Back at the hotel, some still wanted to go down memory lane, remaining at Headquarters until almost 1:00 a.m.

After breakfast on Sunday, we had our business meeting.

- The first order of business was to approve the motion to contribute $1,000.00 from our funds to the Hialeah High Scholarship fund established in memory of Jeff Giordano.

- Next, we discussed where to hold STNY 2004. Several places were mentioned and discussed. The following plan was adopted. After acquiring information on each site, that info will be sent to me by Labor Day to forward on for a vote.

The following places are under consideration:

Rod & Gun Club, Everglades City -- Phil Giberson
Fort Myers Beach -- Fred Krumm
Lake Placid -- Gilbert Cowheard
Mount Dora, Lakeside Inn -- Nan Giordano
Cabbage Key -- Kenna Noone

Wayne Williams suggested each of us find 5 classmates and get them to join us next year. He's already working on his list.

The meeting was adjourned but, while some quickly "vanished without a trace," Wayne & Sandra, Jeanie & Mike, and John and I chose to take in more shopping. We visited a quaint shop Sandy Shell found (when we lost her for an hour on Saturday) called Dream Weavers. That shop had lots of great stuff. Kenna, what was that type of "stuff" called (fru-fru-rufu)? We had lunch at the Florida Cracker Cafe (recommended by Fred and Janice) but no one ordered the gator tail. We all went our separate ways.
It was all over for this year. All that is left of STNY 2003 is memories.
